Assistant Engineer Outskirts of Newark / Mansfield (with UK travel), Full Time, Permanent


£12.71ph / £26,436


Future Prospects Group are delighted to be working with our client, an industry-leading water reuse and environmental engineering specialist, to recruit an Assistant Engineer on a full-time, permanent basis.


This is an great opportunity for a motivated individual looking to build a long-term engineering career, offering full technical training, industry-related qualifications, and nationwide site experience within an innovative and sustainable sector.


THE ROLE



  • Travelling nationwide alongside experienced service engineers to maintain and service customers systems.

  • Assisting with routine servicing, remedial works, and repairs across components including filters, UV disinfection units, control panels, pumps, and valves.

  • Developing hands-on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering skills on a daily basis through practical on-the-job training.

  • Carrying out technical safety checks.

  • Adhering to strict site health and safety standards.

  • Completing mandatory documentation accurately, including site safety checklists, confined space entry forms, and activity logs on the company CRM.

  • Supporting head office operations by assisting with vehicle checks, workshop inventory, and equipment preparation between site visits.

  • Delivering outstanding customer service on client sites and representing the business in a professional manner at all times.


THE CANDIDATE



  • A full UK driving licence and the willingness to travel nationwide, staying away from home up to three nights per week.

  • A genuine interest in or foundational knowledge of electrical systems, pumps, plumbing, or mechanical controls.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities, self-motivation, and a practical, hardworking approach to physical tasks.

  • Good computer literacy with confidence using standard Microsoft Office applications.

  • An eagerness to learn and undertake fully funded qualifications, including CSCS, Working at Height, and Confined Space Entry.
