Job description

We are inviting applications for our new Car Park Supervisor role. If you are an experienced pro-active leader who enjoys working outdoors and meeting people, we would love to hear from you.

You will lead and support a team of Ambassadors by conducting daily briefings, monitoring performance indicators and managing escalated queries from both colleagues and members of the public.

Alongside supervisory responsibilities, you will record staff absences, leave requests, notify payroll details, arrange for maintenance quotes, provide regular reports to the Board of Trustees and take part in discussions regarding parking and transport related issues which involve the community.

It is anticipated that this role will develop as the charity’s park & ride project progresses.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you will play an important part in supporting your team while helping to maintain safe, accessible and well managed car parking and path network.

Your primary location will be on site at the Community Car Park and there is no accommodation attached to this employment.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBLES

  • Supervise the Ambassador team and ensure appropriate guidance, legislation, policies and working instructions are followed and that a customer focussed and cost effective approach is taken. Assist staff with enquiries or complaints and general car park operation. Monitor the workloads of the team with the aim of early identification of backlogs/problems and report to the directors, along with suggested remedial action proposed and/or taken. Keep site records up to date with any incident relating to health and safety such as damage intentional or otherwise.
  • Supervise, mentor and coach the Ambassador team and take remedial action, where appropriate, to improve services. Identify relevant training opportunities for staff and investigate arrangement as appropriate to enable them to undertake training and development.
  • Take the lead role in responding to customer complaints and enquiries, resolve complaints and disputes in accordance with SCIO/GELtd policy and record and feedback in regular reports.
  • Plan ahead and make provision to help ensure the smooth running of day-to-day operations. Eg by implementing and agreeing staff rota, ensure supplies and ticket machines are fully operational, liaise with suppliers to ensure services are maintained. Eg refuse collection, welfare servicing.
  • Develop and maintain effective communications with National Trust for Scotland, Community Council and other partners, business and stakeholders to ensure and promote a fair and safe environment. Eg Callop Forest Development, community projects relating to visitor experience.
  • Undertake regular risk assessments and maintain the Car Park incident recording.
