Contextual Overview
Macquarie Group is hiring an Alternative Funds Lawyer, Associate for Macquarie Asset Management’s Credit and Insurance business in London, England. The role involves supporting private credit fund formation, fundraising activity, and client platforms across infrastructure credit, direct lending, and collateralised loan obligations.
Key Eligibility Criteria
- Experience: 2-5 years of experience in alternative funds, ideally through private fund launches in EMEA.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong foundation in European asset management regulation and European private funds law (gained from private practice or in-house environment).
- Skills: Ability to apply technical knowledge commercially, manage cross-border fund structures, and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external counsel.
Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Support legal aspects of private credit fund formation, fundraising activity, and client platforms.
- Help structure funds and separately managed accounts with a primary focus on European fundraising for a global investor base.
- Support high net worth and retail-focused vehicles while contributing to the Credit and Insurance platform's growth.
- Collaborate across legal, governance, product, and investment teams.
