Field Based Pump Technician\n
Major Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Field Based Pump Technician to join a well-established engineering business covering Glasgow and the surrounding areas.
\n
This is a great opportunity for a Multi-Skilled Engineer who has a mechanical or electrical bias that has hands-on maintenance and fault-finding experience within the submersible pump sector and is looking to develop within a field-based engineering role.
\n
The Role
\n
As a Field Based Pump Technician, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, repairing and fault-finding on a range of pumps and associated equipment at customer sites.
\n
You will work independently and as part of a wider engineering team, providing a high standard of service while ensuring equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
The Role:\n
- \n
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on pumps and associated equipment. \n
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults. \n
- Service, repair and overhaul pump systems and booster sets. \n
- Carry out installations and commissioning of new equipment. \n
- Inspect equipment and identify potential faults or reliability issues. \n
- Complete mechanical and electrical repairs where required. \n
- Replace bearings, seals, motors, couplings and other components. \n
- Carry out basic electrical fault finding and testing. \n
- Attend customer sites throughout Glasgow and surrounding areas. \n
- Complete service reports and maintenance documentation. \n
- Work safely in accordance with company and customer health & safety procedures. \n
- Provide a professional service to customers while working on site. \n
About You:\n
- \n
- Mechanical, electrical or multi-skilled engineering background. \n
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills. \n
- Experience carrying out maintenance, servicing or repair work. \n
- Comfortable working independently at customer sites. \n
- Experience with pumps, motors, bearings, seals, valves or rotating equipment. \n
- Industrial, manufacturing, utilities, water, oil & gas or process industry experience would be beneficial. \n
- Relevant engineering qualification or recognised apprenticeship preferred. \n
- Full UK driving licence. \n
