We are looking for experienced Earthworks Examiners / Geotechnical professionals to support the delivery of Earthwork Examinations across the rail network.
The role will involve planning, managing and undertaking Earthwork Examinations in accordance with NR/L3/CIV/065 - Examination of Earthworks Manual.
Key responsibilities include:
Undertaking desk-based site reconnaissance to establish appropriate access strategies for Earthwork Examinations
Liaising with Access Planning teams to finalise access arrangements, logistics and Safe Work Packs
Planning access opportunities, possessions and worksites and identifying opportunities for integration
Undertaking and completing Earthwork Examinations in accordance with NR/L3/CIV/065
Completing on-site activities safely and efficiently in accordance with Safe Systems of Work, method statements and relevant Network Rail standards
Accurately recording completed and outstanding work
Closing out rejected examinations and responding to examination feedback
Supporting the wider Geotechnical Examination Team with delivery requirements
Essential requirements:
COSS or IWA competency allowing you to work on the operational railway
Previously assessed to Network Rail Level 3 Rock Slope Examinations (GEO-I-R)
Experience using the JBA database and GizMapp
Proven experience producing high-quality Earthwork Examinations to CIV/065 standard
Rates:
York: £427 per day
London: £446 per day
This opportunity is particularly suited to experienced Network Rail Earthworks Examiners / Geotechnical Asset Engineers who already hold the required competencies and can operate effectively within the railway environment.
