Attendance Officer - Successful School in Birmingham

A successful school in Birmingham is seeking a dedicated and organised Attendance Officer to join its pastoral and administrative team on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced attendance professional or administrator who is passionate about improving pupil attendance, punctuality and engagement. The Role The successful Attendance Officer will play an important role in monitoring attendance across the school and supporting pupils and families where concerns arise. Working closely with pastoral staff, teachers and senior leaders, you will help identify patterns of absence and coordinate appropriate interventions. Key responsibilities include: Monitoring daily attendance and following up unexplained absences Contacting parents and carers regarding attendance and punctuality Identifying attendance patterns and persistent absence Maintaining accurate attendance records and producing relevant reports Supporting attendance improvement strategies and interventions Working closely with pastoral, safeguarding and senior leadership teams Communicating professionally with pupils, parents and colleagues Escalating ongoing attendance concerns in line with school procedures What the School is Looking For The school is looking for a proactive and well-organised individual with excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
