Head of Year – Secondary School in Slough (ASAPStart)

A high-performing secondary school in Slough is seeking an inspiring and experienced Head of Year to lead the academic progress and pastoral wellbeing of an assigned year group for an immediate (ASAP) start. This is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious pastoral leader or experienced teacher passionate about removing barriers to learning, driving positive behavior, and guiding young people through secondary education. Job Overview Pastoral care and character development play a prominent role in this school’s culture. The successful applicant will take strategic leadership over the academic tracking, behavior standards, attendance targets, and personal development of a full year group cohort. Working closely with Form Tutors, SENCOs, Safeguarding Leads, and parents, you will deliver weekly year group assemblies, implement behavior interventions, oversee academic monitoring, and manage pastoral support plans. This is a full-time, ongoing or permanent role.
