Our client is seeking a reliable and proactive School Caretaker to join a friendly, well-established secondary school in Birmingham on a full-time, permanent basis starting as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced or aspiring caretaker to play a vital role in the day-to-day running of a busy school environment. You will work closely with the site team and senior leadership to ensure the school premises are safe, secure, clean, and well-maintained, helping to create a positive environment for students and staff. Key Responsibilities Opening and closing the school site daily Carrying out general maintenance, repairs, and DIY tasks Ensuring health and safety standards are met across the premises Monitoring site security, including alarms and access control Assisting with setting up rooms for events and activities Liaising with external contractors when required Experience and Skills Previous caretaker, site assistant, or maintenance experience (preferred) Basic knowledge of building maintenance and health & safety Practical, hands-on approach with good problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good communication and organisational skills Right to work in the UK School Information This inclusive secondary school in Birmingham is known for its strong sense of community and supportive leadership team.
