📍 Location: Havering, East London 📅 Start: ASAP 💼 Contract: Temporary to Permanent ⏰ Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm 💷 Rate: £160–£170 per day About the Role An established secondary school in Havering is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Science Technician to support its Science Department. You'll be responsible for making sure teachers have the equipment and resources they need for practical lessons, while also helping maintain a safe, organised and well-run laboratory environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare resources for practical lessons across the sciences Set up demonstrations and experiments Maintain laboratory equipment and apparatus Check and maintain stock levels Assist with purchasing and deliveries Safely manage chemicals and scientific materials Ensure COSHH and health & safety procedures are followed Keep preparation areas organised and ready for lessons Provide guidance and support to other technicians Work closely with the Head of Science and teaching staff The Ideal Candidate You'll ideally have several years' experience working within a secondary school Science Department and be confident taking responsibility for practical preparation and laboratory organisation. A strong understanding of Biology, Chemistry and Physics practical requirements would be advantageous. You should also be comfortable working independently and managing the technical requirements of a busy department.
