Job Overview Reporting to the Headteacher, you will take hands-on responsibility for day-to-day site maintenance, routine security, health and safety checks, and general porterage. This role is ideal for a reliable, hands-on professional who enjoys a varied daily routine in a peaceful rural setting. Key Responsibilities Site Security & Access: Manage daily opening and closing routines, gate security, and keyholder duties for community events. General Maintenance: Carry out routine DIY tasks, minor carpentry, painting, lock repairs, and basic plumbing across the school buildings. Health & Safety Compliance: Conduct and log weekly fire alarm checks, water hygiene temperature flushing, and playground equipment safety checks. Porterage & Setup: Move classroom furniture, organize delivery stock, and set up the main hall for school assemblies, PE lessons, and village functions. External Grounds Upkeep: Keep pathways clear, monitor waste disposal, and maintain tidy, hazard-free outdoor learning areas. Contractor Liaison: Welcome and oversee visiting maintenance contractors, ensuring adherence to school safeguarding standards.
