Job Overview Working directly under the guidance of the Estates Manager / Site Supervisor, the Caretaker will take day-to-day ownership of site security, routine maintenance, porterage, health and safety checks, and keeping our learning environment safe and pristine for students and staff. This is a secure, full-time, ongoing permanent position designed for a practical, reliable professional. Key Responsibilities Site Security: Open and close the academy premises daily, managing alarm systems, gate security, and conducting thorough security patrols. Maintenance & Repairs: Perform general day-to-day handy work, minor plumbing, carpentry, painting, and fixture repairs across the school site. Health & Safety: Conduct and log routine statutory checks including fire alarm tests, emergency lighting, water hygiene flush tests, and COSHH storage management. Porterage & Setup: Move furniture, equipment, and deliveries across the school site and set up rooms for assemblies, exams, and community lettings. Contractor Oversight: Assist in escorting and supervising external contractors working on-site, ensuring adherence to school safeguarding and health & safety policies. Cleanliness & Waste Management: Monitor general site cleanliness, manage waste disposal, and handle emergency cleaning tasks as required.
