Job summary

Are you an experienced physiotherapist looking for a rewarding specialist role where you can make a meaningful difference? We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Band 6 Physiotherapy Specialist to join our Community Learning Disability Team. You will use your clinical expertise to assess and support adults with complex physical, cognitive, sensory and communication needs who may not be able to access generic physiotherapy services. Working autonomously and alongside a supportive multidisciplinary team, you will deliver person-centred interventions, improve mobility through specialist equipment and assistive technology, and help people achieve greater independence and inclusion in their communities. This varied community role also offers opportunities to supervise junior colleagues and students, contribute to audit and research, and help shape service improvements. If you are committed to high-quality, inclusive care and want to develop your specialist practice within a collaborative team, we would be delighted to hear from you.

  • Improve mobility for people with physical disabilities through the assessment and provision of specialist equipment e.g. wheelchairs, orthotics and other assistive technologies
  • Work closely with other multi-disciplinary team members, carers and services to enable community inclusion and promote independence through reducing reliance on paid support
  • Be an active member of the multi-disciplinary physiotherapy team and contribute appropriately to all service requirements and developments
  • Ensure safe practice and adherence to Safeguarding policies and procedures
