SEN Teaching Assistant – Secondary SEN School

Location: Nuneaton, CV11
Salary: £95 – £110 per day PAYE
Contract: Temp to Perm
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

GSL Education are currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a large and well-established secondary SEN school in Nuneaton (CV11). This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant, Support Worker or SEN professional looking for a rewarding long-term position, with the potential to become permanent.

The school supports pupils with a range of additional needs and complex learning requirements, and is looking for someone who is patient, resilient and genuinely passionate about helping young people make progress.

The Role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.
• Support pupils with their learning, communication and emotional development.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Help implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Support pupils with personal care where required.
• Work closely with teachers and other members of the support team.
• Encourage pupils to develop their confidence, independence and life skills.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience working with children or adults with SEN/additional needs.
• Is comfortable supporting pupils with personal care.
• Has a calm, patient and nurturing approach.
• Can manage challenging situations with confidence and professionalism.
• Is reliable, resilient and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Has a genuine passion for supporting individuals with additional needs.

Experience in SEN schools, residential care, support work, healthcare, youth work or similar settings would be highly beneficial.

Requirements

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for a new DBS.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Previous experience supporting individuals with SEN or additional needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
