About the role

Connex Education are supporting a mainstream primary school in Shefield (S5) in appointing an SEN Teaching Assistant on a full-time basis. This role is to work 1:1 With a child with autism who is non-verbal.

Connex Education are partnering with a mainstream Primary school in Sheffield. The school has a SEN provision attached. The staff and parents work together closely to ensure each child achieves their full potential. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting a KS1 class and working 1:1 with a child with autism. The school is looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant who is able to help create an engaging learning environment for pupils.

Assignment details

This role is long term assignment starting September 2026– January 2027 (32.5 hours per week).

Person Specification

• Have a current DBS on the update service or willing to provide a new one
• Have Maths and English to GCSE Grade C or equivalent
• Hold previous experience of working with children and young people
• Have experience of supporting pupils with SEN needs
