Being a Visitor Experience Assistant, is all about connecting and inspiring people, delivering activities and events, sharing stories that help visitors connect with the property and our conservation work, and ensure high standards of presentation and interpretation. Working collaboratively with colleagues and volunteers, you’ll help create an enjoyable, accessible and memorable experience for every visitor.
Salary: 12,918.75 pro rata (FTE 25,837.50 per annum)
Contract/duration: permanent
Hours/working pattern: Part-time, 18.75 hours per week
This role is required to work with vulnerable groups including children and any offer of employment or volunteering is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.

What it's like to work here
You'll be reporting to the Visitor Experience Officer and working as part of the Studland team in Purbeck. The Studland peninsula is one of the most bio-diverse areas in the UK, including a Marine Conservation zone, and is home to some of the rarest species including all 6 British reptiles and Seahorses. The sites wildlife rich habitats and stunning sandy beaches draw in over 1.5 million visitors each year. This is a great platform for delivery of an engaging programme of activities as well as interpretation and community engagement work.
What you'll be doing
This role will play in an integral part in delivering an exciting outdoor programme of events including wellness walks, Easter trail and monthly 10k runs. No two days are the same. You will share stories on social media to support visits and connection to nature. Interpretation and visitor information will be produced to enhance every visit and you will enable and encourage volunteers to assist and participate with programming whether actual delivery or behind the scenes preparation of materials.
Working closely with colleagues and volunteers across Purbeck, you’ll support and promote our conservation work, generate income and contribute to membership growth and retention. This role will suit someone with a love of the outdoors and nature, an interest in active pursuits as well as an appreciation of excellent service delivery.
