Maths Teacher | Outstanding Secondary School in Lincolnshire

An Outstanding Secondary School in Lincolnshire is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Maths Teacher to join its successful Mathematics department from September. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about mathematics and committed to helping students develop confidence, logical thinking, and strong problem-solving skills.

The school has high expectations for its students and staff and provides a supportive environment where academic achievement is combined with excellent pastoral care. The successful candidate will join a collaborative department with a strong track record of supporting students to achieve excellent outcomes.

The Role

The successful Maths Teacher will teach Mathematics across KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to teach KS5 depending on experience. You will deliver well-planned and engaging lessons that challenge students while ensuring learners of all abilities receive the support they need to make strong progress.

The Mathematics curriculum encourages students to develop fluency, reasoning, and problem-solving skills while understanding how mathematical concepts can be applied to real-world situations.

You will work closely with colleagues to plan lessons, share effective teaching strategies, monitor student progress, and contribute to the continued development of the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Mathematics across KS3, KS4, and KS5 where appropriate

  • Plan and deliver engaging and challenging Maths lessons

  • Prepare students for GCSE and relevant post-16 examinations

  • Develop students' mathematical fluency, reasoning, and problem-solving skills

  • Assess student progress and provide meaningful feedback

  • Adapt teaching to meet the needs of different abilities

  • Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development

  • Support Maths enrichment activities and extracurricular opportunities

  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management

Candidate Requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience teaching Mathematics at secondary level

  • Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently

  • Strong mathematical subject knowledge

  • Excellent classroom management skills

  • Strong communication and organisational abilities

  • Commitment to supporting students of varying abilities

Desirable

  • Ability to teach Mathematics at KS5

  • Experience delivering GCSE and A-Level Mathematics

  • Strong record of supporting positive student outcomes

  • Experience contributing to Maths enrichment activities

  • A passion for developing students' confidence and mathematical understanding
