Job description

About the Role

Could you help make Norwood House feel like a home for every resident, every day? Norwood House, part of the Holmwood Care Group, is a well-established residential care home committed to delivering exceptional standards of care. We truly value our team members, investing in your growth and creating an environment where everyone can flourish.

We are more than just a care home - we are a family. Every member of our team plays an important role in creating a warm, welcoming, and homely environment for our residents. We are now looking for a dedicated and compassionate Housekeeper to join us and help maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and comfort for those who call Norwood House their home.

Norwood House is a well-established care home rated 'Good' by the CQC, where residents feel valued respected and support. It's a genuinely close-knit team, and a Housekeeper who takes pride in creating a spotless, comfortable, homely environment makes a real, visible difference to residents' everyday lives.

Important information: Norwood House is in a rural location near Saxmundham, Suffolk and getting here without your own transport is difficult. There are no direct transport links to the home. The nearest train station is approximately a 30 minute walk away. If you have reliable transport, though, you'll find a quieter, close-knit home where you're never just a number - and a team that will make sure you feel supported from your very first shift.

Job Opportunity

What you'll be doing

  • Ensuring residents' rooms and communal areas are kept spotless, safe and comfortable
  • Supporting the team in creating a homely and welcoming atmosphere
  • Using cleaning equipment safely and efficiently
  • Respecting residents' dignity, privacy and personal space while working
  • Assisting with stock management and reporting any repairs or replacements needed
  • Playing your part in infection control, health & safety, and fire safety procedures

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Friendly, caring and committed to making a positive difference
  • Able to work well as part of a team and also use your own initiative
  • Reliable, organised and attentive to detail
  • Respectful of confidentiality and residents' individual needs
  • Willing to take part in training and development to continue building your skills

Essential Skills

Benefits you'll enjoy

  • Competitive pay of £13.00 per hour
  • Full-time and part-time positions available
  • Permanent contracts with guaranteed hours
  • Free uniform & a fully enhanced DBS check
  • Free employee counselling support
  • Complimentary meals during shifts
  • Company pension scheme
  • Access to the Blue Light Card discount scheme
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities

Be part of a supportive and welcoming team, with the chance to make a real difference in residents' daily lives. If you take pride in your work, enjoy being part of a caring environment, and want to bring a smile to someone's day, we'd love to hear from you!

You can apply directly via this advert, contact the home directly, send us an email or pop in - whichever is easiest for you. We are more than happy to have an informal conversation before the interview stage.

Please note previous applicants need not apply.

Please note we hold a sponsor license but do not currently have any spare Certificates of Sponsorship available.
