Puro Associates are delighted to be working with a well-established and highly regarded independent accountancy practice in Stockton-on-Tees who are looking to appoint an experienced Tax professional to join their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional who is looking to take the next step in their career, with the opportunity to work across tax compliance and higher-level tax advisory services.
The firm is open to candidates at different stages of their tax career, from those with strong practical experience through to experienced professionals capable of providing strategic tax advice to clients.
A CTA qualification is highly desirable, although candidates who are qualified by experience and can demonstrate a strong track record in tax advisory work will also be considered.

The Role
The successful candidate will work closely with a diverse portfolio of clients, providing a combination of tax compliance, planning and advisory services.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing high-level tax advisory services to a varied portfolio of clients
• Advising clients on tax planning and tax-efficient strategies
• Managing and reviewing a range of personal and corporate tax matters
• Preparing and reviewing tax computations and returns where required
• Advising individuals and businesses on complex tax issues
• Identifying opportunities to improve clients' tax positions
• Keeping up to date with changes in tax legislation and ensuring advice remains accurate and compliant
• Liaising directly with clients and building strong, long-term relationships
• Supporting colleagues with more complex tax queries and technical matters
• Reviewing work and providing technical guidance where appropriate
• Contributing to the wider tax team's development and delivery of client services

About You
We're looking for an experienced tax professional with a strong technical understanding and the confidence to provide advice directly to clients.
You'll ideally have:

• Solid experience working within an accountancy practice or professional services environment
• Strong knowledge across personal and/or corporate taxation
• Experience providing tax advisory and planning services
• The ability to confidently communicate complex tax matters to clients
• Strong technical and analytical skills
• Excellent attention to detail and a commercially minded approach
• Good client relationship and communication skills
• The ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines
• A CTA qualification, or equivalent level of technical experience
• Candidates who are qualified by experience will also be considered
