Smiths (Gloucester) Ltd is a family run business owned and run by the Smith family since 1982. Smiths has grown from a single owner-operated plant hire company to a multifaceted group with family values still firmly at the heart of each project undertaken. With depots in Avonmouth, Cardiff, Gloucester, Stonehouse and Tewkesbury we operate predominately across the South-West of England. We specialise in Construction, Waste Management, Plant Hire, Demolition and Transport operations.
We are recruiting for machine operators to join the team at our recycling centre in Gloucester. We are looking for experienced operators to join our team ideally with experience on both 360 excavators and loading shovels. Experienced plant operator preferred but not essential as training can be given to the right candidate.
Responsibilities for the job role:
Loading/unloading HGVs with telehandler
Operating 360 excavator to handle, sort and process waste
Use of telehandler to empty skips
Sweeping yard
Fuelling machines
Loading containers with teletruck
Moving baled waste
Load conveyor belt and waste process hopper with 360 excavator
Ensure a steady supply of material to shears, shredders and balers using machine
