This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well established team within community mental health. Psychology is highly valued by the team and is seen as a core component of service provision. We are looking for a new staff member who shares our passion and commitment to work with individuals with Personality disorder to improve their wellbeing and achieve great outcomes together. Structured Clinical Management is an evidence-based approach for working with people diagnosed with emotionally unstable personality disorders. The service works to meet the needs of service users who are experiencing significant difficulties with emotional instability and impulsive behaviours, and working within the local multi-disciplinary community teams. We pride ourselves on the quality of the service that we offer and place importance on supporting all our therapists to provide great care, with an emphasis placed on maintaining and developing skills and regular supervision. This post would suit someone with a core mental health qualification and registration (including those recently qualified in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, or other appropriately registered therapists - see person spec for details) or a psychology graduate (eligible for BPS registration) with experience in community mental health settings. The successful applicants will also have an interest in working collaboratively with service users to develop their skills to improve their ability to tolerate and manage strong emotion. It would suit someone who loves working as part of a team and alongside multidisciplinary colleagues. Ideally, we are looking for someone with experience of working with this service user group in any care setting, or someone who has transferable skills.
