Job description
Are you looking for an exciting challenge? If you’re a people person and love art and the outdoors, this could be the perfect role for you. Kew’s Creative Programmes are looking to recruit a team of outgoing and friendly Ambassadors who will help our visitors engage with the new programmes at Kew. Working within the Visitor Operations Team, you will be responsible for welcoming visitors to the artistic Installations that have been specially commissioned for the programmes. You will also help visitors understand the best way to interact with the Installations, undertaking some queue management and providing guidance on the best way to experience them. There are 2 x part time opportunities available where you will complete 26.50hrs on average per week (annualised), and 2 x zero hours opportunities available. Please state in your application if you would be like to considered for part time, zero hours, or both. Your primary duties are to encourage visitors to interact with the Installations by providing a warm and outgoing welcome. You will also be responsible for handling visitor queries about the Installations or the Gardens in general. Finally, you will need to confidently and respectfully inform visitors on the appropriate way to engage with the Installations, and monitor their behaviour to ensure the safety of visitors and the Installations. You will have an outgoing, friendly manner, and have experience working in a customer facing role, ideally at a visitor attraction. Great communication skills are a must, as is the ability to be self motivated and confident. Due to Kew’s nature as an outdoor site, this role will be based outdoors, in a range of weather conditions. It can involve long periods of standing and the ability to ride a bicycle will prove to be useful when travelling between the different installations across the gardens. There are 2 x part time opportunities available where you will complete 26.50hrs on average per week (annualised), and 2 x zero hours opportunities available. Please state in your application if you would be like to considered for part time, zero hours, or both. Join us on our journey as protectors of the world’s plants and fungi. You will receive support to achieve your full potential and access opportunities to develop and progress. Our commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion is ongoing, shaped by the people who work here and the communities we serve. As a disability confident employer, we are breaking down barriers to be an inclusive workplace for everyone. Whoever you are, and however you experience the world, there is a place for you to grow and belong at Kew. No agencies please. J-18808-Ljbffr
