Join us at Barclays as an Identity & Access Management (IAM) Specialist to join our Cyber Security team. This role is critical in ensuring robust access controls, strong governance, and compliance across our technology landscape.

You will deliver IAM assurance by supporting operational readiness assessments, validating access certifications, and ensuring strong governance aligned to industry standards while driving adoption of enterprise IAM policies and identifying and remediating access control risks. Additionally, you will enhance access management processes and tooling, collaborate with stakeholders to strengthen identity lifecycle controls, and track and drive compliance uplift initiatives through effective reporting and risk management.

To be successful as a Identity & Access Management (IAM) Specialist, you should have experience with:

  • Proven experience in Identity & Access Management (IAM) tools and platforms within a regulated environment.

  • Access Management Governance Proficiency e.g. Control/Process design – knowledge of standards (NIST etc)

  • Solid understanding of access certification and governance, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Segregation of Duties (SoD), and least privilege principles

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • Relevant Information Security certification such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent

  • Confident stakeholder engagement, analytical, and reporting skills.

  • Good technical awareness – PAM solutions, Entra/AD etc, SSO/MFA

You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.

This role is based in Glasgow or Edinburgh.

Purpose of the role

To manage and implement Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies, processes, technologies and standards for all IAM functions to ensure the secure access and use of sensitive information across the organisation.

Accountabilities

  • Collaboration with stakeholders and IT teams to understand, analyse and implement IAM solutions into the banks process and infrastructure needs including authentication, authorisation, access management and single sign-on capabilities.
  • Management and development of policies, processes and standards for all essential IAM functions aligned to the banks security and regulatory requirements.
  • Execution of IAM audits to monitor processes and ensure that they comply with policies and regulations and identify potential security risks.
  • Execution of incident investigations to respond to IAM related security events, identify the root cause of the incident and implement corrective measures efficiently.
  • Identification of emerging IAM technologies and industry trends by collaborating with networks and conferences to gain IAM expertise and best practice.
  • Development of IAM governance documents and reports to align the implementation and adherence of policies across the organisation.

  • Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
  • Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc).to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Communicate complex information. 'Complex' information could include sensitive information or information that is difficult to communicate because of its content or its audience.
  • Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
