Job description
About You
Join our Welsh Metal Mines and Inland Salinity Programmes as a Programme Support Officer.
Do you enjoy keeping projects organised and making sure nothing falls through the cracks?
Are you someone who can confidently manage information, coordinate activities and support busy teams to deliver great results?
Would you like your work to contribute to environmental improvement projects that benefit communities across the UK?
If that sounds like you, this could be the perfect opportunity.
We're looking for two organised and proactive Programme Support Officers to join our Environmental Programmes teams. One role will support our Welsh Metal Mines Programme and one will support our Inland Salinity Programme.
You'll provide the administration, coordination and programme support that helps our projects run smoothly. Working closely with programme and project managers, you'll help manage information, maintain records, coordinate meetings, support reporting and financial processes, and ensure colleagues have the information they need to deliver successful outcomes.
What You'll Do:
  • Support the day-to-day administration and coordination of environmental projects and programmes.
  • Organise meetings, workshops and events, and maintain accurate records and actions.
  • Prepare reports, presentations and programme documentation.
  • Support financial administration, including purchase orders, invoices and reporting.
  • Maintain effective systems for project information, records and documentation.
  • Work with colleagues, contractors and external partners to gather information and track progress.
  • Support project and programme managers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve processes and ways of working.

You'll be joining teams that play an important role in delivering improvement programmes that benefit communities and protect the environment. In return, you'll have the opportunity to develop your skills, work with knowledgeable and supportive colleagues, and contribute to projects that make a real difference.
If you're looking for a role where your organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to support others can make a meaningful contribution, we'd love to hear from you.

About The Role
What We're Looking For
We're looking for organised and proactive individuals who enjoy supporting teams and helping projects run smoothly.
You'll bring:
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail – able to manage information accurately, maintain records and keep multiple activities on track.
  • Strong communication skills – confident working with colleagues, contractors and external partners, building positive working relationships.
  • The ability to prioritise and manage competing demands – comfortable juggling a variety of tasks whilst meeting deadlines.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach – someone who enjoys solving problems, improving processes and supporting others to achieve shared goals.
  • Experience in an administrative, project support or programme support role – with the ability to work confidently with reports, documentation and data.

For the Inland Salinity role, experience of working with data and supporting data management activities would be particularly beneficial.
We know that no one candidate is likely to meet every requirement. If your experience is a little different from what we've outlined, but you believe you can bring value to the role, we'd encourage you to apply.
