Job description

Team Leader – Children's Homes

£43,180 - £50,444 assuming good attendance and up to 3 sleep-ins per month.

Those huge small victories

Working in our client's Children's Homes means being a part of a young person's day-to-day life. This means being there for the highest highs and lowest lows. Our client's Team Leaders enable young people to regain their childhood and create pathways to become well-rounded adults – an incredibly rewarding role to have. There will be challenges along the way, but there will also be the smallest moments which feel like huge victories.

Our client's homes accommodate young people with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, with the aim of creating the best possible outcomes for every young person in their care. Their Team Leaders are passionate about making even the smallest positive difference, celebrating every achievement along the way.

Get out what you put in

You'll play a key role in supporting young people day to day, ensuring the home runs smoothly while helping to create positive experiences and lasting memories. As a Team Leader, you'll also support and guide the staff team, ensuring the home continues to operate to the highest standards. You'll be prepared to deputise for the Registered and Deputy Managers when required.

We're looking for someone who can build strong, trusting relationships with young people. Compassionate, emotionally resilient and supportive, you'll also have the leadership skills to motivate and inspire your colleagues.

What our client offers

Our client recognises the commitment and dedication of its teams and offers an excellent salary and benefits package, including:

  • Salary: Base salary of £35,400 - £42,664
  • Bonuses: Up to 3 sleep-ins per month paid at £80 per sleep (approximately £2,880 per year)
  • Attendance Allowance: Up to £1,400 per year
  • Regional Allowance: £2,000
  • Responsibility Allowance: £1,500
  • Welcome Bonus: £1,000 upon successful completion of probation
  • Loyalty Bonus: £1,000
  • Training: A comprehensive 4-week induction programme
  • Holiday: Up to 7 weeks' annual leave
  • Career Progression: Excellent opportunities for internal promotion and future management development programmes
  • Flexible Benefits Package: Options to increase or decrease holiday allowance, pension contributions and life insurance
  • Wellbeing Support: Employee Assistance Programme and a range of wellbeing tools and advice
  • Medical Cashback Scheme: Helping cover costs such as dental and optical appointments
  • High Street Discounts
  • Meals provided while on shift
  • Excellent working environments with high-quality facilities
  • Recommend a Friend Scheme: Earn £1,000 for successful referrals

Bring your whole self to work

Our client celebrates individuality and believes that diverse teams deliver the very best outcomes for young people. Their young people come from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences, and they are committed to building a workforce that reflects this diversity.

To be successful, you'll need:

  • A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to support your colleagues
  • Genuine care, honesty and empathy for young people
  • Emotional resilience and the ability to manage challenging situations
  • A full UK driving licence held for at least 12 months
  • A Level 3 Diploma in Children's Residential Care (or equivalent)

You'll begin your journey with a comprehensive induction programme designed to give you the confidence, knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the role and provide outstanding support to young people.

Join a leading provider of specialist education and care

Our client is committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone feels respected, valued and able to be themselves.

As a specialist provider of education and care for children and young people with special educational needs, they understand the importance of embracing individuality and championing difference, particularly when it comes to neurodiversity. They celebrate diverse perspectives, lived experiences and the unique strengths each person brings to their community.

Applications are welcomed from people of all backgrounds, identities and abilities. Our client is committed to ensuring its recruitment and workplace practices are inclusive and accessible. Should you require any reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process or throughout your employment, support will be available every step of the way.

By building a diverse and inclusive workforce, our client is better able to support the children, young people and families they serve while ensuring every member of the team can thrive, develop and be their authentic self.

Our client is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check (paid for by the employer) and satisfactory pre-employment checks, including an online search. Our client is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
