Job description
Job title: Mechanical Rolling Stock Technician Job Type: 12-Month Fixed Term Contract Location: Eastleigh (SO50) Pay: Competitive IR35: Inside Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7am-5pm (40 hours per week), regular Friday overtime available paid at overtime rate Are you an experienced Mechanical Technician looking for your next engineering challenge? We're recruiting for a Technician to support a major rolling stock upgrade programme based at a well-established rail engineering facility in Eastleigh. This is an excellent opportunity to join a long-term project offering excellent rates, regular overtime, and the chance to work with a highly skilled engineering team. The Role As a Technician, you'll play a key role in delivering: * Mecahnical modifications and upgrades * Fault finding, testing and commissioning * Preventative and corrective maintenance * Mechanical repairs and defect rectification * Reading and interpreting wiring diagrams and schematics * Supporting continuous improvement and safety initiatives What We're Looking For * Mecahnical Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 Engineering (or equivalent) * Strong Mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills * Experience working in maintenance, overhaul, modification or production environments * Ability to read drawings and engineering documentation * Strong commitment to safety and quality standards Engineering Backgrounds Encouraged to Apply We welcome applications from candidates with experience in: * Rail & Rolling Stock * Aerospace * Automotive * Electric Vehicles (EV) * Heavy Transport * Ex-Forces Engineering * Manufacturing, Industrial or Safety-Critical Environments What's on Offer? * Competitive pay rates * Monday to Thursday, 7am to 5pm * Regular overtime available * 12-month contract with strong extension potential * Long-term, high-profile engineering project Apply Now Interested in this position? please click 'apply now' We try to respond to all applicants, but sometimes this is not possible due to high volumes of applications; if you have not heard from us within 14 days, regrettably it means you have been unsuccessful on this occasion.
