Registered Manager – Children's Residential Home
Location: Loughborough
Service: 3-bed EBD children's home
Salary: £48,000 – £61,000 depending on experience, registration and performance bonuses
We are working with a highly supportive children's residential provider to recruit a Registered Manager for a 3-bed EBD children's home in Nottingham.
This is an excellent opportunity for either an experienced Registered Manager or an ambitious Deputy Manager who is ready to take the next step.
The home is already registered and currently supports one young person with emotional and behavioural needs and autism. The service has not yet had its first Ofsted inspection, so this is a genuine opportunity to stabilise the home, shape the culture and lead it towards a strong first inspection outcome.
The Role
As Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of the home, ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding, compliance and staff performance.
You will be supported closely by senior leadership, with mentoring and operational support available throughout your transition into the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a 3-bed children's residential home.
- Provide strong, visible leadership to the staff team.
- Ensure the home delivers safe, consistent and child-centred care.
- Support a young person with EBD and autism.
- Prepare the home for its first Ofsted inspection.
- Oversee safeguarding, compliance, risk management and quality assurance.
- Lead staff supervision, development and performance.
- Ensure Regulation 44 and Regulation 40 processes are followed effectively.
- Build a positive, stable and motivated team culture.
- Work closely with senior leadership to drive service improvement.
About You
We are interested in speaking with either:
Experienced Registered Managers who have previously managed an Ofsted-rated children's home, ideally rated Good or Outstanding.
or
Strong Deputy Managers with around 2–3 years' experience who are ready for their first Registered Manager position.
You should have:
- Experience within children's residential care.
- Strong leadership skills.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and compliance.
- Experience supporting young people with EBD.
- A positive, resilient and hands-on approach.
- Excellent work ethic and the ability to lead from the front.
- Confidence managing staff, shifts, supervision and home routines.
- A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for young people.
Personality, attitude and leadership style are just as important as experience. This provider is looking for someone who wants to build something properly, not simply maintain what is already there.
What's on Offer
- Salary from £48,000 for first-time Registered Managers.
- Salary increasing to around £55,000 once registered and occupancy grows.
- Performance bonuses taking the overall package to approximately £61,000.
- Flexibility for exceptional experienced Registered Managers.
- Strong senior leadership support.
- Excellent mentoring and development.
- Supportive organisation with a track record of developing Deputy Managers into Registered Managers.
- Genuine opportunity to shape a home before its first Ofsted inspection.
Why Apply?
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make their mark within a supportive organisation that values attitude, leadership and long-term development.
You will not be expected to know everything from day one. You will be supported, mentored and given the tools to succeed.
For an ambitious Deputy Manager, this could be the step-up opportunity you have been waiting for.
For an experienced Registered Manager, this is a chance to take ownership of a home, stabilise the team and lead the service towards a strong Ofsted outcome.
