Administrative Officer (Court Usher Duties)
Location: City of Brighton of Hove Trial Centre - Hove BN3 3BN

Our Client is hiring for a reputed client to help keep day-to-day operations running smoothly, while offering clear processes and the chance to develop.
\n * Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm (30 minutes to leave early), 37.5 hours per week
\n * Pay £12.86 increasing to £13.25 after 12 weeks
\n * 4-month assignment with an ASAP start
\n
What you'll be doing:
\n * Provide administrative support to ensure efficient day-to-day court operations
\n * Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including scanning, filing and accurate record-keeping
\n * Assist with preparing case documentation and carry out routine information checks
\n * Update records and retrieve information using office systems and databases
\n * Complete general admin tasks such as document formatting, data entry and file management
\n * Support hearings and related activities by coordinating with colleagues to keep things on time
\n * Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in line with policies and procedures
\n * Respond to queries from internal stakeholders and, where appropriate, members of the public
\n * Carry out Court Usher responsibilities, including reception of court users and answering face-to-face enquiries
\n * Keep parties informed of changes (e.g., courtrooms and hearing times) and call people into hearing rooms in priority order
\n * Escort court users into and out of the building and support with formal procedures (including swearing oaths)
\n * Liaise with relevant parties as needed (including Court Clerks, Legal Advisers and the Witness Service)

\n * Strong administrative ability with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
\n * Excellent written and verbal communication, with a calm, respectful approach
\n * Confidence working in a fast-paced environment-able to manage competing priorities and deadlines
\n * Confident IT skills, including accurate data entry and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel)
\n * Understanding of confidentiality and information-handling requirements
\n * A professional, dependable attitude when working with sensitive matters
\n * Outstanding people skills and the ability to communicate effectively with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds
\n * Highly organised time management and attention to detail
\n * The ability to stay impartial, professional and respectful-even when handling explicit, distressing or sensitive details
