Job Description

Are you an experienced HR professional who wants to make a real impact at a strategic level?

We are looking for a People and Change Partner to join our Strategic HR team and help shape the future of our workforce, services and organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a role that connects people practice, workforce planning and organisational change. You will work closely with senior managers, services and colleagues across the Council to develop practical, people-focused solutions that support service priorities and help deliver positive outcomes for our communities.

As a People and Change Partner, you will provide strategic HR and change support across a varied portfolio. You will use your professional expertise, workforce insight and relationship-building skills to support service redesign, workforce planning, employee relations, organisational development and change activity. You will also play a key role in helping services think differently about future workforce needs, skills, capacity and ways of working.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, can build trusted relationships and is confident supporting and constructively challenging managers. You will be part of a supportive and professional team with a strong culture of working together, sharing knowledge and helping each other succeed.

This role would suit someone who is proactive, solutions-focused and comfortable working across complex and varied issues. You will bring strong HR knowledge, sound judgement, excellent communication skills and the ability to use workforce data and insight to inform recommendations and decisions.

We offer a flexible working environment, while maintaining strong connections with colleagues, services and stakeholders. We value a healthy work-life balance and are committed to supporting our employees to work in a way that enables both personal wellbeing and high-quality service delivery.

You will be:

A confident and experienced HR professional, ideally with strategic HR or business partnering experience. Professionally qualified as a Chartered Member of the CIPD. Skilled in building effective relationships with managers, colleagues, trade unions and other stakeholders. Comfortable advising on complex people issues, change, workforce planning and employee relations. Able to think strategically while also delivering practical and workable solutions. Confident preparing reports, presenting information and using workforce data to support decision-making. Collaborative, supportive and committed to contributing to a positive team culture.

What you can expect from us:

In return, you will join a team that values professionalism, collaboration and continuous improvement. You will have the opportunity to work on meaningful people and change priorities, support Council-wide transformation, and contribute to shaping how services are delivered in the future.

If you are looking for a role where you can use your HR expertise strategically, work as part of a strong and supportive team, and make a positive difference across the organisation, we would welcome your application.
