Job summary
Are you an enthusiastic, motivated, and dynamic clinical pharmacist with a passion for Training and Development.

This role is ideal for a pharmacist looking to maximise their leadership skills in education as a Training Programme Director (TPD) leading on the Foundation Pharmacist Programme

You will co-ordinate and maximise development opportunities across our whole team including undergraduate, foundation, post foundation pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.

The Health Board has strong links with Bangor, Swansea and Cardiff universities, providing opportunities for research, audits, teaching and credentialling as an advanced practice pharmacist.

The TPD will work on the programme delivery and trainee support ensuring trainees are placed in a suitable environment for their rotation, creating and monitoring of rotas, as well as providing pastoral care.

The TPD will ensure the curriculum is being achieved aswell as providing support for Designated Supervisors and Designated Prescribing Practitioners to ensure quality management standards are being achieved through e-portfolio review.

Main duties of the job
  • Assist in the delivery of pharmaceutical education relating to medicines management for healthcare professionals and others working in health and social care.
  • Support the Designated Supervisor or Designated Prescribing Practitioner to meet their responsibilities where issues have been identified, reporting any lack of improvement to their line manager and the HEIW Regional Lead.
  • Contribute to programme evaluation and improvement through the HEIW Foundation Pharmacist Programme Curriculum Review and Operational groups.
  • Management of staff sickness and regular review meetings with the trainees
  • Liaise with HEIW aswell as attending regular HEIW meetings.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications
Essential
  • MPharm degree or equivalent
  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Post Graduate MSc/Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent experience and/or qualifications
  • Non-medical prescribing qualification - or working towards

Desirable
  • Membership of relevant professional association
  • Accredited or eligible to be accredited as a Higher Education Institute Clinical Pharmacy diploma/MSc tutor
  • Training qualification Leadership and/or management qualification

Experience
Essential
  • Must be able to demonstrate suitable level of experience working in the managed sector and/or community pharmacy

Desirable
  • Experience in relevant clinical area
