Job description
Description
Priory Elm Park - Ardleigh, near Colchester, Essex - is a specialist brain injury service based in Ardleigh, near Colchester, Essex. We provide expert neurobehavioral assessment, rehabilitation and specialist care for people with complex neurological needs following an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). This is a 17 bed service.

We are entering an exciting new chapter as our service transitions from a hospital setting to a Specialist Residential Nursing Service, designed to meet the increasing demand for high-quality neurorehabilitation and specialist residential care within the local community.

What you'll be doing
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Home Manager who is NMC registered (RGN, RMN or RNLD) and has a proven track record of successfully leading a residential nursing service. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Elm Park, leading the transition while ensuring exceptional standards of care and operational excellence.

About the Role:

As the CQC Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the leadership, performance and day-to-day management of the service. Working closely with the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) and senior leadership, you will lead the transition from hospital to specialist residential nursing, ensuring the service continues to deliver outstanding, person-centred care throughout the change. This role requires an experienced leader who is passionate about delivering high-quality care, developing teams, driving continuous improvement and creating an environment where both residents and colleagues can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the successful transition of the service from a hospital environment to a Specialist Residential Nursing Service.
  • Provide visible, compassionate and effective leadership, promoting a culture of dignity, respect, inclusion and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the home operates in full compliance with CQC regulations, legislation, health and safety requirements and organisational policies.
  • Take overall responsibility for quality, governance, compliance, budgets and operational performance.
  • Work collaboratively with the MDT to deliver safe, effective and person-centred care that enables residents to achieve their rehabilitation goals and maximise independence.
  • Oversee care planning, clinical documentation and nursing records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with best practice.
  • Recruit, develop and retain a high-performing team through coaching, mentoring, supervision and ongoing professional development.
  • Drive innovation and service improvement, ensuring the home continues to meet the changing needs of individuals with complex neurological conditions.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, families, commissioners and external stakeholders to promote excellent outcomes and service reputation.

What you'll bring to the role
To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Current NMC registration (RGN, RMN or RNLD).
  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager or Home Manager within a residential nursing or specialist care setting.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing CQC-regulated services with a strong understanding of regulatory compliance and quality standards.
  • Experience leading organisational change or service development, ideally including service transitions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and people management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
  • Strong financial and operational management experience.
  • A genuine passion for delivering exceptional, person-centred care for people with complex neurological needs.
  • A proactive, resilient and solutions-focused approach with the ability to lead confidently through change.
