Main responsibilities for a Project Engineer:

  • Review customer RFQs, tenders and project specifications, translating requirements into clear engineered proposals and bids.

Manage the acquisition of multiple projects of varying complexity, supporting on-time delivery, quality, compliance and profitability.

Act as a key customer contact during the acquisition phase, building strong relationships and ensuring expectations are understood and managed.

Work collaboratively with Sales, Execution, Solutions, Documentation, Service, Technical Support, Logistics, Production Centres and third-party suppliers to develop competitive project offers.

Coordinate supplier RFQs, evaluate third-party scope and ensure technical and commercial compliance within customer proposals.

Prepare clear customer submissions, including assumptions, deviations, disclaimers, schedules, documentation and supporting technical information.

Support forecasting, opportunity management and project pipeline updates using Salesforce and other business tools.

Identify and manage technical, commercial and contractual risks, working with internal stakeholders to protect customer and business outcomes.

Support handover to the Execution Project Manager and provide technical input during the project execution phase where required.

Contribute to continuous improvement, quality processes and ongoing development of product and application knowledge.

Qualification + Profile for a Project Engineer:

  • Post-secondary qualification in Engineering or Technology, ideally in instrumentation, process control, electrical, mechanical, chemical or industrial engineering.

Minimum 10 years’ experience in industrial or process project work, with 2–3 years’ project management experience preferred.

Willingness to travel and represent Endress+Hauser at customer meetings, including technical and commercial clarification workshops, tender reviews, site visits and project negotiations.

Strong understanding of customer specifications, technical proposals, project documentation and engineered instrumentation solutions.

Confident communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, colleagues, suppliers and stakeholders at different levels.

Good problem-solving, decision-making and ownership mindset, with the ability to work independently and manage changing priorities.

Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, OneNote and Copilot.

Fluent English language skills, both written and verbal.

Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management standards would be advantageous.

PMP, APM or PRINCE2 certification would be desirable.

Experience using Salesforce, SAP, Planview or DocBoss would be advantageous.
