Teaching Personnel

Teaching Personnel is seeking a compassionate and committed SEN Classroom Assistant to join a welcoming specialist primary school in Middleton.

This dedicated provision supports pupils aged 3-11 with a variety of additional learning needs, providing a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child is encouraged to reach their full potential. With a strong focus on personalised learning, the school works to remove barriers to education and celebrates every achievement along the way.

About the Role

As an SEN Classroom Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and support staff to provide tailored support both inside and outside the classroom. You will play a key role in helping pupils build confidence, develop independence, and achieve important educational and personal milestones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 support and assist small groups of pupils.
  • Support the delivery of personalised learning activities tailored to individual needs.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and active participation in lessons.
  • Promote pupils' social, emotional, and communication development.
  • Help children overcome barriers to learning and work towards their individual targets.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, families, and external professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes for pupils.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children, ideally within an SEN or educational setting.
  • Is willing to support with personal care when required.
  • Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude.
  • Possesses strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Can adapt to the diverse needs of pupils.
  • Has a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
  • Holds relevant qualifications (desirable but not essential).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
