You will contribute to the strategic objectives of Sanofi Vaccines by managing the medical organization across the three countries in accordance with internal procedures and applicable regulations.

We are an innovative global healthcare company that helps the world stay ahead of infectious diseases by delivering more than 500 million vaccine doses a year. Across different countries, our talented teams are exploring new technologies to protect people and promote healthy communities. We chase the miracles of science every single day, pursuing progress to make a real impact on millions of patients around the world.

About Sanofi Vaccines
Join the team protecting half a billion lives every year with next-gen science, mRNA innovation, and AI-driven breakthroughs. In Vaccines, you’ll help advance prevention on a global scale - and shape the future of immunization. Across different countries, our talented teams are exploring new technologies to protect people and promote healthy communities. We chase the miracles of science every single day, pursuing progress to make a real impact on millions of patients around the world.

Main responsibilities:
  • Define and drive the overall medical strategy across UK, Ireland, and Switzerland, aligning global franchise strategies with regional workplans and local business objectives while ensuring integrated execution with market access, regulatory, public/corporate affairs, and commercial teams.
  • Lead, inspire, and develop high-performing Medical teams across the three countries, building organizational capability, clear succession depth, and a culture of scientific excellence that embodies Sanofi's values.
  • Drive accountability for medical plans, resource allocation, and performance outcomes across the MCO, setting clear goals and KPIs that deliver measurable impact on business objectives and patient outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strategic scientific partnerships with key national stakeholders including public health authorities (JCVI, UKHSA, NHS England, MHRA, HSE, HPRA, Swissmedic, BAG), academic institutions, and medical societies to strengthen Sanofi's scientific leadership position.
  • Lead country-level vaccines regulatory strategy and health authority engagement, including lifecycle management activities such as label updates, indication expansions, post-approval commitments, and navigating complex regulatory pathways.
  • Foster high-impact evidence generation programmes including real-world evidence studies, post-marketing surveillance, and vaccine effectiveness research, leveraging AI-driven digital tools to optimize medical excellence and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ensure full compliance with international, European, and local pharmaceutical codes and health authority standards, championing pharmacovigilance, patient safety, and medical ethics while collaborating with regional and global governance, quality, and pharmacovigilance functions.

About you
Essential qualifications and experience:
  • Scientific background with Medical Degree, PhD, or PharmD (MD highly preferred; board certification is an advantage).
  • Proven senior leadership experience within vaccines or infectious diseases, with a strong track record of translating global strategies into successful country-level execution and delivering measurable business impact.
  • Demonstrated expertise in product launches and deep knowledge of access ecosystems and immunization programmes, including NHS immunization frameworks, JCVI recommendation cycles, and multi-stakeholder decision-making processes.
  • Direct experience engaging with national health authorities (JCVI, UKHSA, NHS England, MHRA, HSE, HPRA, Swissmedic, or equivalent), including navigating regulatory pathways, vaccine lifecycle management, and building trusted relationships with key decision-makers.

Leadership and technical capabilities:
  • Proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop medical teams across multiple countries and cultures, building high-performing organizations with clear succession planning and fostering engagement across diverse, remote teams.
  • Demonstrated expertise in evidence generation programmes including real-world evidence, post-marketing surveillance, vaccine effectiveness studies, and translating scientific insights into strategic advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacovigilance, patient safety, and medical ethics within a vaccines context, with the ability to ensure compliance while driving innovation.
  • Working knowledge of digital tools and AI applications, with enthusiasm and capability to champion their adoption to enhance evidence generation, medical excellence, and stakeholder engagement.

Personal attributes:
  • Decisive, accountable, and resilient leader who thrives in complexity and uncertainty, challenges the status quo, and drives performance with an entrepreneurial and growth mindset.
  • Collaborative business partner who builds trust across functions and geographies, demonstrating Sanofi's values: Aim Higher, Act for Patients, Be Bold, and Lead Together.

Why choose us?
  • Work at the forefront of AI-driven research, smart manufacturing, and groundbreaking mRNA platforms that are redefining the future of immunology.
  • Develop your career with access to mentoring, international mobility programs, and opportunities to grow across four continents.
  • Make the impossible possible for millions by contributing to breakthrough moments with an exciting pipeline in motion
  • Share knowledge with leading scientists, engineers, and experts in a purpose-driven community dedicated to protecting millions worldwide
