A leading and growing accountancy and tax advisory firm in Winnersh is looking to recruit an experienced Personal Tax Senior Manager to join its specialist tax team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a CTA-qualified Personal Tax professional seeking a senior role with a strong advisory focus, offering the chance to work with a varied portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, business owners and internationally mobile clients.
The successful candidate will take ownership of complex personal tax assignments, provide high-level advisory support, manage client relationships, and play a key role in developing the wider tax function.
The RoleAs a Personal Tax Senior Manager, you will combine technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, delivering specialist personal tax advice while supporting junior team members and contributing to the continued growth of the practice.
Key ResponsibilitiesPersonal Tax Advisory
- Providing specialist personal tax planning and advisory services to private clients and business owners
- Advising on international tax matters, including UK inbound and outbound tax planning
- Supporting individuals relocating to or from the UK, including advice surrounding the Statutory Residence Test
- Advising on the Foreign Income and Gains (FIG) regime and Temporary Repatriation Facility planning
- Providing guidance on remittance basis matters and interaction with current legislation
- Advising on Transfer of Assets Abroad legislation
- Delivering Inheritance Tax (IHT) and Capital Gains Tax (CGT) planning advice
- Supporting owner-managed businesses and shareholders with profit extraction planning
Personal Tax Compliance
- Managing a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals and complex personal tax clients
- Preparing and reviewing complex Self-Assessment tax returns
- Reviewing work completed by junior members of the tax team
- Reviewing ATED returns, P11D and PSA submissions
- Ensuring all compliance deadlines are met while maintaining excellent client service standards
Leadership & Practice Development
- Managing, mentoring and developing junior members of the tax team
- Supporting workflow management, WIP control, billing and portfolio profitability
- Assisting with business development activities and networking opportunities
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, efficiency and quality standards
- Keeping up to date with technical tax developments and legislative changes
Skills & Experience Required
- CTA qualified
- Minimum of 6 years' experience within Personal Tax
- At least 3 years' post-qualification experience
- Strong technical knowledge across UK personal tax, CGT, IHT and international tax
- Experience managing complex personal tax portfolios
- Previous experience reviewing work and supporting junior team members
- Excellent communication and client relationship management skills
- Ability to provide commercially focused tax advice to private clients
Desirable Experience
- Experience advising high-net-worth individuals and internationally mobile clients
- Previous team management experience
- Business development and networking experience
