About the role

University College London (UCL) wishes to appoint a Lecturer (Teaching) in Construction Management. The post holder will be based at The Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction at the Bartlett Faculty of the Built Environment, a world-leading faculty ranked #1 in the world for Built Environment studies and #1 in the UK for its research environment. The post holder will carry out teaching, research, and programme administration within the Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction, in the field of Construction Management, consistent with the vision and mission of The School. This is an open-ended, full-time position.

About You (Key requirements)

The successful applicant will be expected to lead or co-lead modules across our Postgraduate Taught (PGT) or Undergraduate programmes which focus on construction management, construction technology and operations, construction firms and business models; deliver high quality interdisciplinary teaching with flexibility across programmes as requested by the Director of School. They will also be expected to support enabling activities, by liaising with Programme Directors and Module Coordinators to actively contribute to programme and assessment development, and student experience, and provide personal tutoring and pastoral care relating to a specific programme or module. Furthermore, research and preparatory tasks are involved, such as, investing time in scholarship, professional development and research to underpin research-based education in areas that span sustainable construction, and other relevant fields; and, keeping up to date with relevant research, learning and teaching developments particular to the programme including UCL initiatives.

The appointee is required to have a higher degree or PhD in management, or project/construction/enterprise management and/or closely related discipline, and an established track record of teaching at PGT and undergraduate level.

They will also have experience and impact of providing pastoral support to students, effective communication skills, and excellent organisational and time management skills. The successful candidate will be able to work harmoniously with staff and students of all cultures and backgrounds and possess excellent stakeholder liaison and/or public engagement skills.
