Location: Crown Buildings, Rivergate, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, PE1 1EJ
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm
Pay Rate: £12.86 per hour, increasing to £13.25 per hour after 12 weeks
Contract Length: Until 31 March 2027
Potential Extension: Yes
Clearance Required: Basic DBS (to be provided by Brook Street for successful applicants)
About the Role\n
\n HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) is seeking an Administrative Officer to join its team in Peterborough. This role involves providing administrative and customer service support to help ensure the efficient running of courts and tribunals. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will manage case-related administration, handle enquiries, maintain accurate records, and support the delivery of justice services.
Key Responsibilities\n
\n - Provide administrative support to ensure the smooth running of court and tribunal operations.
\n - Prepare, process, and maintain court documents, case files, and records accurately.
\n - Handle telephone, email, and face-to-face enquiries, delivering excellent customer service at all times.
\n - Input and update information on internal systems and databases.
\n - Support court hearings by ensuring all paperwork and materials are prepared and available.
\n - Manage post, filing, scanning, and general office administration duties.
\n - Assist with scheduling, meeting arrangements, and other operational tasks.
\n - Check and validate information for accuracy and compliance with procedures.
\n - Work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to meet service targets and deadlines.
\n - Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support the wider team as required.

What We're Looking For\n
\n - Previous administrative experience or an NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration (or equivalent).
\n - Strong IT skills and confidence using a range of computer systems.
\n - Excellent communication and customer service skills.
\n - Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
\n - Good organisational skills and the ability to manage a busy workload.
\n - Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
\n - A flexible and professional approach to work.
\n

\n - Basic DBS clearance is required. (to be provided by Brook Street for successful applicants)
