People Experience Business Partner - Volunteering - (permanent, full-time or 2 x 17.5 hour job share)

About you

Do you want to use your skills to make it possible for people with myeloma to live longer and better lives? We are looking for a People Experience Business Partner who will lead the transformation of Myeloma UK's volunteering offer, shaping the future of how we engage with our volunteers and how they help us in our ambitions.

You will bring a progressive approach as either having been a Head of Volunteering, HR Business Partner or People Experience Partner to lead the development and implementation of a new volunteering proposition. From recruitment to recognition, from training to promoting inclusion, you will help shape it all. The post holder will work collaboratively, have good influencing skills with excellent stakeholder management, but most importantly will be someone who naturally leads with heart and compassion.

Your background/ skills:

  • Experience in HR, People & Culture, Colleague Experience or leading volunteering.
  • Experience from the third sector including volunteering.
  • Experience leading organisational change, transformation or projects.
  • The ability to design and implement people-focused solutions at pace.
  • A compassionate, collaborative approach, with the confidence to challenge constructively and build trusted relationships.
  • Digital confidence and a curiosity to embrace new ways of working.
  • Continues improvement mindset and willingness to learn.

In return, you'll join a values-led charity where your work will make a genuine difference to people affected by myeloma. You'll be part of an ambitious, supportive People & Culture team and have the opportunity to shape a role that can grow alongside your career.

About the role

Help us transform the volunteering experience at Myeloma UK.

We're looking for an experienced People & Culture, People Experience or Senior Volunteer Management professional who combines compassion with action. Someone who leads with heart, builds trusted relationships and enjoys turning ambitious ideas into practical, sustainable solutions.

Reporting to the Director of People & Culture, you'll work with senior leaders, volunteer managers, People and Culture Colleagues and volunteers across the organisation to design and embed a modern volunteer experience that reflects our values and supports our ambitious People & Culture agenda.

You'll create a complete volunteer lifecycle, from attraction and recruitment through to onboarding, development, engagement, recognition and retention, ensuring every volunteer has a consistent, inclusive and rewarding experience.

This is primarily a transformation role. Around three-quarters of your time will be spent leading a high-profile organisational project to redesign and embed our volunteering experience, while the remaining time will focus on coordinating volunteering activities that help our volunteers and managers succeed.

This is a rare opportunity to build something from the ground up and leave a lasting legacy by creating an outstanding volunteering experience for current and future volunteers.

You don't need extensive volunteer management experience although charity sector and understanding of volunteering is a must. We're looking for someone with strong people experience expertise, project and change management skills and, above all, someone who leads with compassion. You'll be equally comfortable influencing senior leaders, supporting managers and rolling up your sleeves to make things happen.

For the right person, this role offers genuine opportunity to develop into a broader People & Culture leadership role as our organisation and team continue to evolve.
