Job description

Company Overview:

  • Elios is building AI receptionists for home services, targeting sectors like plumbing and facility management.
  • The company is small, with 14 people, including 6 in engineering, 2 in sales, and 6 in customer operations.

Role Requirements:

  • Looking for builders at heart with experience in Python and some familiarity with LLMs.
  • Nice to have: customer experience or previous founder experience, preferably in startups.

Technical Stack

  • Mainly Python (FastAPI, Postgres), hosted on GCP with Kubernetes; front end uses TypeScript and Next.js.
  • Utilizes OpenAI and Gemini for LLMs, Deepgram for speech-to-text, and 11 Labs for text-to-speech.

Company Context

  • Recently closed a $13 million Series A, with YC and Blackbird as investors.
  • Operating in a five-day workweek model from the office located in Old Street, London.

Compensation and Logistics:

  • Open to visa sponsorship and expects candidates to work five days a week in the office.

Timeline and Urgency

  • Aiming to hire as soon as possible, with the expectation of a March start date due to notice periods in the UK.

Role requirements:

Seniority

  • 5 - 10 years of experience in full- stack software engineering (backend- leaning) and AI product development

Work experience:

  • Building and shipping AI products end- to- end. Meaningful, hands- on experience with agentic systems, not just general ML or data science backgrounds.
  • Early- stage startup experience (Series A or earlier)
  • Experience with voice AI, event- driven systems, or CRM integrations & having worked with customers.

Hard skills

  • Full Stack Proficiency in Python or TypeScript. Must have Strong async Python. Candidates need real hands- on experience with async coroutines, httpx, AsyncOpenAI, and production- grade error handling in async contexts.
  • Experience with modern cloud infrastructure (Kubernetes, serverless, distributed systems).

Soft skills

  • Can scope and deliver solutions directly with non- technical customers.

Miscellaneous

  • Able to work 5 days/week in person in London, UK.
