Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic Infant Feeding Specialist Midwife to join our team on a maternity cover basis. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop infant feeding services across North Devon, working closely with the wider Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Infant Feeding Team to deliver consistent, high-quality care.

The successful candidate will provide expert clinical leadership in breastfeeding and infant nutrition, supporting the implementation and sustainability of UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative standards. They will play a key role in delivering staff education and training, leading quality improvement initiatives, and contributing to improved outcomes for women, babies and families. Working collaboratively across maternity, neonatal and community services, the post holder will promote, protect and support informed infant feeding choices through evidence-based practice and compassionate care.

The post holder will be expected to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in response to service needs, including during any potential temporary suspension of urgent maternity care in North Devon, supporting service delivery across the wider maternity system as required.

The successful candidate will provide expert clinical leadership in breastfeeding and infant nutrition, champion evidence-based practice, and support the implementation and sustainability of UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative standards. You will play a key role in delivering education and training to staff, leading quality improvement initiatives, and ensuring women, babies and families receive high-quality, compassionate infant feeding support.

Working closely with colleagues across maternity, neonatal and community services, you will help promote, protect and support informed infant feeding choices, contributing to improved outcomes and experiences for families across our services.

We are looking for a dynamic and collaborative midwife with excellent communication and leadership skills, a passion for infant feeding, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Working Pattern: Monday - Friday, 9-5, part time 0.5 wte . To include on calls.
