Are you an experienced HR professional with a passion for employee relations and coaching others? Looking for an opportunity where you can take the lead on complex ER activity while helping to develop a high-performing HR Advisory team?

We're partnering with a well-established organisation to recruit a Senior HR Advisor to join their collaborative People team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR generalist with strong employee relations expertise who enjoys balancing operational casework with coaching, coordinating workloads and using data to drive continuous improvement.

Working on a hybrid basis, you'll spend around three days a week in the Sheffield office, with the flexibility to work from home for the remainder of the week.

The Opportunity

As Senior HR Advisor, you'll be a trusted expert on employee relations, providing commercially focused advice and guidance across a broad range of people matters. Alongside managing complex and sensitive casework, you'll play a key role in ensuring the HR Advisory team delivers a consistent, high-quality service by coordinating the allocation of cases, providing coaching and sharing best practice.

You'll also use employee relations data and reporting to identify trends, highlight risks and recommend proactive solutions that support both managers and the wider business.

Although this role doesn't include direct line management responsibility, you'll provide day-to-day guidance and support to the HR Advisory team, helping to build capability and drive consistency across the function.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice and guidance on complex employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, capability and wellbeing cases.
• Lead the allocation, prioritisation and oversight of employee relations casework across the HR Advisory team, ensuring workloads are managed effectively.
• Coach and support HR Advisors, promoting consistency, confidence and best practice in case management.
• Partner with managers to deliver pragmatic, commercially focused HR advice across the employee lifecycle.
• Analyse employee relations data, identifying trends, risks and opportunities to improve outcomes and inform decision-making.
• Support organisational change activity, including consultations, restructures, redeployment and TUPE where required.
• Ensure HR policies and employment legislation are applied consistently across the business.
• Contribute to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the overall employee experience.

About You

We're looking for an experienced HR professional with strong employee relations expertise and the confidence to coach others while building trusted relationships across the business.

You'll ideally have:

• Significant experience in a generalist HR or Employee Relations role.
• Extensive hands-on experience managing complex employee relations cases independently.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
• Experience coordinating or overseeing employee relations casework within a busy HR function.
• The ability to coach and support colleagues, helping to develop capability across a HR Advisory team.
• Strong analytical skills, with experience using HR systems and employee relations data to identify trends and support decision-making.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
• CIPD qualification (or working towards) would be advantageous.
