Leading our fire safety strategy, you'll provide expert leadership to ensure our customers' homes remain safe, compliant and effectively managed through robust risk management, statutory compliance and effective programme delivery.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference, both across the organisation and for our customers by helping to keep their homes safe.

About us

We are a social housing landlord and one of the largest housing providers in the region with over 22,000 social and affordable homes, mainly in the Bradford district. We employ a talented workforce of nearly 1,000 people.

In 2024 we launched our five-year Corporate Strategy, which runs to 2029. Our purpose is to provide high quality homes, services, and support to our customers, so we’ve worked with colleagues and customers to find out what’s important to them. Our customers sit at the heart of what we do, and our colleagues are the people who’ll help us achieve our vision, which is to create the best customer experience to improve everyday lives.

  • Support the Head of Compliance to develop the service, strengthen assurance and embed a proactive property safety culture.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, regulators, partners and other stakeholders to support effective fire safety delivery.
  • Provide specialist fire safety advice and support to compliance, asset and investment colleagues across the business.
  • Produce accurate and timely fire safety compliance reporting for monthly, quarterly and governance requirements.
  • Foster a high-performing, inclusive team culture where achievements are recognised and continuous improvement is expected.

Requirements

  • Level 5 qualification in fire safety management, or equivalent relevant experience and qualification.
  • Membership of the Institution of Fire Engineers, or a similar relevant professional body.
  • Proven experience of leading a fire safety or compliance team and delivering statutory compliance responsibilities.
  • Strong working knowledge of fire safety legislation and regulatory requirements, including the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
  • Strong understanding of fire risk assessment, fire door inspection, building maintenance and health and safety requirements.
  • Experience of working within social housing or with higher-risk residential buildings, including high-rise homes.
  • Experience of leading teams, contractors or specialist consultants to deliver safe, compliant and high-quality outcomes.
  • Sound knowledge of compliance assurance, risk control, incident management and governance in a housing or property setting.
  • Good knowledge of building maintenance and repairs operations, and their impact on compliance and resident safety.
  • Full driving licence and own vehicle as you'll be expected to go out to site weekly.
  • Right to Work in the UK - Visa Sponsorship is not available
  • A basic DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check will be required for the successful candidate as part of the pre-employment process - Criminal Conviction Checks
