Job description

Ready to Start Your Superhero Career?

As a carer with MSH Healthcare, your job is to help people live independently in their own homes. This could mean anything from supporting with personal care or medication to providing companionship and friendly conversation. You have the ability to add a little magic to someone's day.

Do you believe in delivering high-quality care with kindness and excellent service to people in their own homes?

MSH Healthcare is always looking for fantastic people with the right qualities to join our friendly care team. We need carers who are patient, kind and compassionate, with flexibility, reliability and a good sense of humour.

If you are ready to help reduce loneliness, promote independence and give people more choice and control in their own homes, consider this your bat-signal — we want to hear from you!

What You Need to Know

In this role, there is no such thing as a typical service user or a typical day.

Every person you care for is an individual with their own needs, preferences and personality, and the support you provide will be tailored to meet those needs.

Your main responsibilities may include:

  • Providing personal care
  • Supporting with or administering medication in line with care plans and training
  • Completing shopping calls
  • Providing companionship and emotional support
  • Promoting dignity, choice, independence and wellbeing
  • Following individual care plans and reporting any concerns appropriately

Working Hours

Part-time shifts: 7:00am–5:00pm

This position is for an average of 25 hours per week and follows a set two-week rolling shift pattern:

Week 1: Friday and Sunday
Week 2: Friday, Saturday and Sunday

What We Need from You

You must:

  • Be caring, empathetic, respectful and flexible
  • Be reliable and committed to delivering high-quality care
  • Be aged 18 or over
  • Hold a valid UK driving licence
  • Be willing to complete an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check
  • Be willing to complete all required pre-employment checks

Previous care experience is welcomed but is not essential, as full nurse-led training will be provided.

Benefits

  • Competitive hourly rates starting from £13.00, with client uplifts available
  • Overtime pay starting from £17.00 per hour
  • Predictable rota schedules
  • Permanent contracts of employment with guaranteed hours
  • Travel time between visits paid at National Minimum Wage
  • Refer a Friend bonus
  • Access to a 24/7 employee wellbeing programme
  • Full nurse-led training
  • Fully funded, nationally accredited qualifications
  • Excellent long-term career opportunities within a growing business
  • A friendly and supportive company where you will be listened to and valued

Working for MSH Healthcare

You will be supported through a comprehensive induction programme and will have access to ongoing training, further education and professional development opportunities.

We are committed to investing in our colleagues and providing a rewarding and enriching working environment.

Safeguarding and Safer Recruitment

MSH Healthcare is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the adults we support. We follow robust safer recruitment practices and expect all employees to share our commitment to protecting people from abuse, neglect and harm.

  • Proof of identity
  • Confirmation of the right to work in the United Kingdom
  • A full employment history and explanations for any gaps
  • Satisfactory employment references
  • An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check
  • Relevant barred-list checks where applicable
  • Verification of qualifications or professional registrations where required

Employment cannot begin until all required checks have been completed and confirmed as satisfactory.

We are committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace where everyone is treated fairly and with dignity and respect.

Reasonable adjustments are available throughout the recruitment process for applicants who require them.

Right to Work
