Job summary
Are you a staff nurse searching for your next challenge?

We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic staff nurses to join our inclusive and friendly multidisciplinary team in the Stroke Unit for a fixed term maternity cover. We are in the process of expanding the Stroke Unit to 43 beds.

We offer a bespoke stroke induction programme and actively encourage clinical training, including an on-site Stroke Practice Educator. This role offers the successful candidate an incredible opportunity for career development and a chance to make a positive impact on the service we provide.

About us

Job responsibilities
To provide nursing expertise, facilitate evidence-based patient care.To support the Trust strategy of delivering a quality healthcare service forpatients and their families.To work within and to support the Trust objectives and the ward departmentphilosophy and standards.To supervise and direct junior staff, to act as a resource to provide educationand training and this may include members of the multi-disciplinary team. You maybe required to take charge of the ward area in the absence of Ward Manager/deputies.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of the whole directorate
  • Good organisation skills and the ability to plan and prioritise own workload in an unpredictable environment

Qualifications
Essential
  • NMC Registered Nurse
  • Educated to degree level or relevant experience/qualifications

Desirable
  • Post graduate studies or a desire/willingness to attend

Technical Skills Competencies
Essential
  • Computer literacy with a wide range of software's. Databases and spread sheets.
  • Intravenous drug administration

Desirable
  • Stroke experience

Knowledge
Essential
  • Current working knowledge of the NHS
