Key responsibilities:

  • Coordinate installation, integration, commissioning, testing, acceptance and handover activities, ensuring all work is delivered to the required quality and safety standards
  • Manage project risks, dependencies, milestones, decision points and resource plans, taking proactive action to keep delivery on track
  • Protect project margins by monitoring cost elements, including labour, subcontractor activity, hardware and materials, and escalating deviations promptly
  • Act as the main interface with customers, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams, ensuring clear communication and effective stakeholder management throughout the project lifecycle
  • Create and maintain project documentation, including status reports, risk logs, change records and handover documentation for Customer Care or support teams
  • Deliver projects in accordance with NEC4 or equivalent construction contract frameworks, ensuring contractual obligations, programme milestones and change control are effectively managed

  • Manage delivery within live hospital environments, ensuring minimal disruption to clinical services whilst maintaining compliance with infection control, permit-to-work and site safety requirements
  • Lead project change management including Early Warning Notices (EWNs), compensation events, variations and scope changes where applicable
  • Coordinate technical design reviews, site surveys, construction readiness, commissioning activities, witness testing, customer acceptance and final handover
  • Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, RAMS, permit processes and site-specific health and safety requirements
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects across various locations, balancing customer priorities, internal resources and commercial objectives

Experience and qualifications:
  • Project Management qualification or certification, such as PRINCE2, PMP, APM or equivalent, would be beneficial
  • Proven experience managing construction-related projects, ideally involving infrastructure, cabling, technology deployment or site-based delivery
  • Strong project management capability, with experience planning, monitoring and delivering projects against agreed milestones, budgets and quality standards
  • Experience managing project risks, dependencies, change control, resource planning and stakeholder expectations
  • Experience working under NEC3/NEC4 or similar construction contract frameworks
  • Experience delivering projects within live healthcare environments would be highly desirable
  • Experience delivering technology, communications, nurse call, security, fire, AV, BMS or other integrated building systems would be advantageous

Skills and competencies:
  • Excellent project management, planning, organisation and delivery skills
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to work with customers, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and competing priorities in complex or sensitive operational environments
  • Strong commercial awareness, including cost control, margin protection and contract-based delivery
  • Reporting skills and attention to detail
  • Basic experience in contractual law applicable for customer delivery projects
  • Build strong relationships across clinical, estates, IT and construction stakeholders, ensuring all parties remain aligned throughout project delivery
  • Excellent planning skills with the ability to manage complex construction programmes, critical paths and interdependencies
  • Strong understanding of construction site processes, commissioning activities and phased handovers
  • Ability to confidently challenge programme issues, negotiate solutions and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience managing subcontractor performance and coordinating multidisciplinary delivery teams
  • Comfortable working independently whilst managing multiple concurrent projects across geographically dispersed sites
  • CSCS card or equivalent site qualification would be advantageous and SMSTS or SSSTS would be desirable.
