We are seeking an experienced and commercially-minded Financial Accountant to join our dynamic team and strengthen our finance function, supporting our organisation's continued growth within the exciting aerospace sector. Our company specialises in the production and supply of fasteners for aircraft assembly and maintenance, a critical and high-precision industry.
This is a varied, hands-on role where you will take ownership of key financial processes. You will be responsible for management accounting and financial reporting, while also providing crucial support for payroll, accounts payable, and other day-to-day finance activities. The ideal candidate will be adept at producing accurate and timely financial information, helping management understand business performance, and driving improvements in our financial systems, processes, and controls.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing monthly management accounts and financial statements.
- Managing budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Supporting payroll and accounts payable processes.
- Liaising with auditors and ensuring financial compliance.

About The Role
Step into a pivotal role as a Financial Accountant where you will be a cornerstone of our finance department. Your day-to-day will be a dynamic mix of detailed financial tasks and strategic contribution. You'll be responsible for preparing monthly management accounts, producing P&L statements, and completing balance-sheet reconciliations. You will also manage payroll and accounts payable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across the board.

- Previous experience in a Management Accountant, Assistant Management Accountant or similar accounting role.
- Experience preparing or contributing substantially to monthly management accounts.
- Strong knowledge of balance-sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals and prepayments.
- Experience of budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
- Practical experience of payroll and/or accounts payable processes.
- Strong Excel skills and confidence using accounting systems.
- Ability to analyse financial information and explain findings clearly to non-finance colleagues.
- A methodical and accurate approach to work.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet reporting deadlines.
- High standards of integrity, discretion and confidentiality.
- A proactive approach to identifying and implementing improvements.

- Previous experience of working in the aerospace industry
- Experience working within a growing multi-national business
- Experience managing or supporting an end-to-end payroll process
- Experience overseeing purchase ledger and supplier payments
- Knowledge of VAT and year-end accounting requirements
- Experience improving finance systems, reporting or internal controls
- Experience producing financial models, dashboards or business cases
- Experience of relevant accounting, payroll and reporting systems
