PERSONAL ASSISTANT (PA) VACANCY
About the Role:
We are looking for a caring, reliable and proactive Personal Assistant to support a 9
year old child to help in his learning and recreational activities.
Purpose of the Role:
To provide person-centred support to a child with additional needs, enabling them to
achieve maximum independence, wellbeing, and enjoyment in their daily life.
The work base can be within the child's home or during social and community
activities. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in
someone's daily life.
About the young person
He is a 9 year old boy who loves social interaction and outdoor activities. He is non
verbal but able to show his likings and dislikings by body gestures. He is fond of
activities such as water park visit, park , bus ride and others. He also enjoys
activities such as swinging , jumping , climbing.
Occasionally he will be attending art and craft sessions, cooking lesions. The job
holder need to accompany him on the sessions and need to provide 1:1 support.
Key Responsibilities - Support access to social, leisure and community activities - Encourage independence, confidence and participation - Assist with development of social and communication skills - Provide supervision and ensure safety at all times - Build a positive and trusting relationship
Person Specification
Essential:
-Previous work experience with autism/ADHD/Complex need children - Able to build a trustful and caring relationship with the child - Has good physical stamina to cope up with the active outdoor session with the child - Has Knowledge and experience in managing meltdowns and other challenging
behaviours- if occurs during the working time. - Creative and able to suggest engaging activities
Desirable: - Previous or current work experience in professional level such as job in nursery,
School or special school.
Requirements - DBS check (will be arranged if successful) - Full UK driving licence with work insurance of the vehicle - Right to work in the UK
Working arrangements
Location: Maidstone
Number of roles available: 1 and Hourly rate: £12.71per hour.
Hours (Term-time): 4 Hours - mostly on weekends
Hours (School holidays): 8 Hours
