Working alongside major employers, they provide industry-focused training through modern workshop facilities, helping learners gain the skills and qualifications needed for successful engineering careers.
\nIn this role, you will support Mechanical apprentices throughout their training by carrying out workplace visits, assessing practical skills, and monitoring their progress. You'll work closely with learners, employers, and teaching staff to provide coaching, guidance, and feedback, ensuring apprentices successfully complete their qualifications. Full assessor and trainer qualifications will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity to transition from industry into education.
\nThis role would suit a Mechanical Engineer with a Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent industry experience who is looking for a long-term career with full training, excellent work-life balance, and clear progression opportunities.
\nThe Role:
\nSupport and assess Mechanical apprentices in the workplace
Carry out regular progress reviews with learners and employers
Assess practical competency against apprenticeship standards
Provide coaching, guidance, and constructive feedback
Monitor and record learner progress and achievement
Liaise with employers and internal teams to support apprentice development
Gain recognised assessor and trainer qualifications through full training
The Person:
\nLevel 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering
Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Engineer or similar background
No previous teaching or training experience required
Looking to move into a training and education role
Commutable to Workington
