Non-Executive Director
The Gibraltar Financial Services Commission (GFSC) regulates the financial services industry in Gibraltar. Its mission is to promote good business and protect consumers, aiming to achieve speed to market whilst preserving Gibraltar’s good reputation as a financial centre.
The GSFC supervises both the application of prudential standards to, and the conduct of, firms across the financial services sector. This includes, but is not limited to, banks, insurance companies and insurance intermediaries, e-money issuers and payment service institutions, investment firms, fund service providers and funds, fiduciary service providers and auditors.
The GFSC is looking to appoint a new Director from outside Gibraltar to succeed a retiring Director and contribute to the board in its next phase of evolution.
The role
As a non-executive director on the board, the successful appointee will help to:

Provide governance and leadership of the Commission within a framework of prudent and effective controls, which enable risk to be assessed and managed and that controls are robust and defensible.

Set the Commission's strategic aims and ensure values and standards are upheld and its obligations to stakeholders are understood and met.

Ensure that the necessary financial and human resources are in place for the Commission to meet its regulatory objectives and that effective talent development and succession planning takes place.

Scrutinise the performance of management in meeting agreed goals and objectives, and monitor the reporting of performance.
The individual
You will bring:

A working knowledge of the financial services industry relevant to Gibraltar.

Experience of prudential and/or conduct regulation. This may have been obtained in a regulated firm, advisor or regulator.

Ability to contribute and influence across a wide agenda at board level.
