Job description
St Andrews International School Bangkok is one of 88 schools in the Nord Anglia Education (NAE) family. We offer a British educational curriculum with an international perspective that begins in Nursery and leads up to IGCSE examinations in Year 11, and culminates with the International Baccalaureate Diploma after completing Year 13. We are an inclusive school that invites children from all backgrounds and abilities to participate in the educational offerings on our diverse campus.
Founded in 1997 on an attractive, conveniently located site, with excellent facilities and access to local transportation. Today we have more than 2,400 students over a Primary School and High School campus, representing some 68 nationalities ranging from Foundation Stage to Year 13. Our state-of-the-art High School campus (next to Ekkamai BTS) opened in August 2017 giving our students the benefit of world-class teaching and facilities.
As part of the NAE family of schools, we are delighted to be able to offer some unique collaborations with world-class establishments, including the Juilliard School of Performing Arts, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and UNICEF.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Psychology Teacher who shares our commitment to providing a nurturing, inspiring, and inclusive educational journey for every student. Join us in creating a positive, lasting impact.
Psychology is a popular and well-established subject at St Andrews and we are looking for an inspiring teacher to join the team. Class sizes are small and the students are motivated and enthusiastic, enjoying a lively approach to the subject through a wide range of teaching and learning techniques
At St Andrews International School Bangkok, we believe knowing each child is at the heart of effective education. Our classrooms are warm, engaging spaces where students feel supported to explore, learn, and grow. Our teachers bring this vision to life through creativity, dedication, and commitment to each child's unique journey.
Inspiring Learning and Development:
As a Psychology teacher at St Andrews, you will nurture the academic and personal growth of your class, adapting teaching methods to meet the individual needs, abilities, and interests of each student. Staying informed on current educational practices, you'll bring fresh approaches to our curriculum and provide regular, meaningful feedback to parents. Collaborative planning is central to our approach, and you'll work closely with colleagues and Heads of Subject to design cohesive learning experiences for students.
Psychology is offered to students following Key Stage 5, where all students following the IB Diploma Programme must study at least one Humanities subject, with IB Psychology being a very popular choice. We also offer the IB Career-related Programme (IBCP) with Level 3 International BTEC's.
We welcome applications from teachers new to the profession for whom we offer DfE, ECF-based training for Early career teachers (ECTs), as well as experienced teachers. Previous experience teaching either IB or A Level Economics or Business Management would be advantageous.
Collaborating as a Professional Team Member:
Being part of our team means embracing shared goals and contributing positively to our school community. You'll implement assessment and reporting protocols with integrity and accuracy, supervise students during designated times, and support curriculum development through regular meetings and professional development sessions. Working closely with fellow teachers, you'll ensure a consistent, high-quality learning environment across classes and year groups.
Professional Development
We prioritise professional growth, offering access to Nord Anglia University's CPD platform and encouraging collaboration through Professional Learning Communities, Triads, and WalkThrus. With leadership and Masters programme opportunities, we support our teachers in their journey to become lifelong learners.
Building a Welcoming School Community:
Our school is a dynamic environment that encourages curiosity and engagement. As an educator, you'll make classrooms and shared spaces inviting and stimulating, helping children feel excited to learn and participate. You'll engage weekly in extracurricular activities, represent the school in the local and international community, and champion our House system by supporting House events.
ABOUT OUR SCHOOL
St Andrews International School is a lively, forward-thinking school in the heart of Bangkok, with over 2400 students from Early Years to Year 13 across our dynamic campuses. We embrace diversity and innovation, offering a nurturing community for students, staff, and families where everyone is encouraged to excel.
Our teachers are passionate about creating a curriculum that recognises the uniqueness of every child, aiming for high standards while providing targeted support to ensure each student is inspired to be the best they can be. We are proud of our inclusive ethos and our commitment to supporting students with diverse learning profiles, including those new to English and those with additional educational needs. Recently named a Centre of Excellence by the Inclusion Quality Mark, and awarded International Provision of the Year at the 2024 NASEN Awards, we believe in nurturing happiness, confidence, and ambition within all students. At St Andrews, we value multiple intelligences and embrace a multi-sensory approach, creating an engaging environment where academic, creative, and physical pursuits are equally celebrated.
Our Community
Joining St Andrews means becoming part of a warm and inclusive community, where teachers contribute beyond the classroom. In addition to teaching, you'll engage in our vibrant pastoral system, residential trips, and offer extracurricular activities that enhance student growth, whether in academics, creative arts, sports, or social initiatives.
Curriculum and Learning Approach
Our curriculum broadly follows the English National Curriculum with an inclusive, international perspective. Senior students take IGCSEs and the IB Diploma, with options for the IB Career-Related Pathway and International BTECs, catering to our diverse community. We embrace technology, adapting to the continuous changes, ensuring staff and students have the tools for digital learning. Every teacher receives a personal device.
Safeguarding at St Andrews:
St Andrews is committed to ensuring the safety of all our students and expects all staff to share the same commitment (see our Child Protection Code of Conduct ). No teacher will be appointed without at least two references, including one from the most recent employer, a ten-year criminal record check and an International Child Protection Certificate (ICPC) or relevant regional prohibition order checks.
Application Process:
St Andrews International School, Bangkok, is a vibrant, supportive, and professionally enriching place to work. If you're ready to make a difference and be part of our journey, we'd love to hear from you. If you would like to apply for a position at our school, please complete the application process, accessible via the Nord Anglia Education website: http:///careers/
Please email if you require any further information.
At Nord Anglia Education we are committed to providing a world class, safe, happy environment in which children and young people can thrive and learn. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all our pupils where we embrace all race, abilities, religions, genders, and cultures.
All post holders in regulated activity (having regular unsupervised contact with children) are subject to appropriate national and international vetting procedures including satisfactory criminal record checks from both your country of residence/birth and any country of residence within the last 10 years.
We welcome applications from suitable qualified persons from all diverse backgrounds
Please note, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
