Are you an experienced dementia care leader who is passionate about making a real difference?
We're looking for a hands-on, people-focused Turnaround Manager to support our Northeast services. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with teams, building positive relationships, and helping services achieve their full potential.
This role is perfect for a confident and compassionate leader who has extensive experience within elderly residential dementia care and understands what it takes to support services through periods of improvement, change, and growth. You'll work alongside Registered Managers, providing practical support, coaching, and guidance to help drive quality, compliance, and exceptional resident outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational leadership and support to Registered Managers across residential care services in the Northeast.
Work alongside Registered Managers to improve service quality, compliance, and operational performance.
Support services preparing for CQC inspections and implementing improvement plans following inspections.
Develop, implement, and monitor quality improvement plans, ensuring sustainable outcomes.
Strengthen governance, auditing, and quality assurance processes.
Support staffing stability through recruitment, performance management, workforce planning, and team development.
Coach and mentor Registered Managers and senior teams, helping them develop confidence, capability, and accountability.
Monitor performance metrics and provide clear reports and recommendations.
Build effective relationships with CQC, commissioners, local authorities, healthcare professionals, residents, and families.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement, person-centred care, and excellence in dementia care.
Provide additional management support during periods of absence, transition, or service development.
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
Essential
- 5+ years' leadership experience within elderly residential care.
Extensive leadership experience within dementia care services.
A deep understanding of dementia, including the various forms of dementia and best-practice approaches to supporting people living with dementia.
Mandatory experience within elderly residential care homes.
A proven track record of supporting services to improve quality, standards, compliance, and overall performance.
Experience working within services requiring focused improvement, development, and operational support.
Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding, governance, and quality standards.
Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing Registered Managers and leadership teams.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
The ability to engage positively with people at all levels and quickly establish strong working relationships.
A practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving abilities.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Ability to travel regularly throughout the Northeast.
Availability to start immediately or at very short notice.
Desirable
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or equivalent leadership qualification).
A recognised qualification in Dementia Care or specialist dementia training.
Current or previous CQC Registered Manager status.
Experience supporting services through regulatory challenges and quality improvement journeys.
Experience successfully improving service ratings, outcomes, and operational performance.
